Director's Books

Where the Blind Horse Sings, written by CAS founder and director, Kathy Stevens, not only tells the story of the birth of Catskill Animal Sanctuary. More importantly, it introduces the reader to some of the animals who've called the sanctuary home, and whose lessons have irrevocably altered our understanding of the supposed "differences" between humans and animals. Readers particularly enjoy the stories of Rambo, the sheep, and Paulie, the former cockfighting rooster, both of whom Kathy considers among her greatest teachers.

Where the Blind Horse Sings received both critical and popular acclaim, and was recently released in paperback. Purchase a hardcover copy at our store or the paperback from Amazon. Kathy's second book is scheduled for release September, 2010.
