Sponsor an Animal

Not everyone can adopt one of our animals. But many of our animals - both those waiting to be adopted and our permanent residents - need to be sponsored. Sponsoring an animal helps pay for that animal's grain, hay, and bedding.

Unlike other sanctuaries, we assign only one sponsor per animal. This animal truly becomes your special friend. We'll send you a photo of the animal along with his or her history. Many sponsors visit their animals here at CAS and form lasting bonds with them.

(The only exceptions are special-needs animals, who need up to three sponsors to cover their expensive care. If you sponsor one of our special-needs animals, we'll still send you a photo and history - and thanks! - and invite you to visit.)

Adopting an Animal

Catskill Animal Sanctuary provides a loving place for our animals to recover from the abuse and neglect they suffered before they came to us. But for most of these animals, CAS is not a permanent home. Every week, our waiting list for animals that need our attention grows longer.

We have space for 250 animals, but we've helped over 1600. That's because, after our animals are rehabilitated, we find loving new homes for them. This frees up space that allows us to take the next animals on the waiting list.

Maybe your home could be one of those loving new homes. We have high standards for any one who would adopt one of our animals. But the fact that you're reading this is the first sign that you might be a good candidate.
